Dawn had just broken and the morning air was pure and refreshing. Birds were chirping gaily as they flew from tree to tree. Elizabeth and Andrew sat up from their bed dazed.

Stretching their hands, they yawned so loud that the birds outside the window of their room flew away frightened.

" Rise and shine, come down for your breakfast!" Their mother's soothing voice boomed from outside the door. The aroma of their English breakfast floated into their room. They lazily stumbled down the staircase to the dining room.

Their father was already sitting at his "usual" chair reading his newspaper in his fishing clothes. " Elizabeth, Andrew, finish your breakfast then go up and change. We are going to the beach!" Responded their mother when she saw them in their pajamas. They gladly ate the meal laid before them.

Shortly after, they left the beach. The first thing they did was to find seashells. They paced around the warm sand searching for rare seashells, when they spotted a beer bottle. It was transparent and they saw a note in it. They calmly and coolly walked towards the bottle and pondered whether they should open it. Both of them had no idea how to get the note out of the bottle when Andrew suggested using a stick.

Surprisingly, when they turned the bottle over, it just slipped out. Elizabeth unfolded it. She saw a map and a message on it and decided to show her brother. As Andrew had seen a similar map in his textbook, he concluded that it was a treasure map. There was also a message on it that said" Treasure hidden at the X-sign." The hunt started from where they were sitting. They had to pass a jungle, swim across a narrow river and climb over a hill. As they did not want to let their parents know that they were gone, they picked up some shells that they spotted and started the hunt.

They had a hard time figuring out which jungle to enter but soon found the exact one. Owls were seen sleeping on branches or in holes, but fortunately, there were no wild and ferocious roaming in the jungle. They were overjoyed when they saw a raft lying near the river. They tried to balance on the raft and slowly used a stick to push them further from the jungle. As Elizabeth that there might be crocodiles, she closed her eyes so tight that wrinkles formed around her eyes. Andrew had learnt to row a raft at school and was expert in it. He rowed them to safety. They alighted from the raft and continued on their journey. They saw many other boats but it seemed like no one had found the treasure. They slowly and steadily clambered up the steep rock trying their best not to fall. Andrew instructed his sister, as she had never tried rock-climbing before.

After much perseverance they made it to the top. In front of them stood a high and mighty cave but the hole the hole was only big enough for a seven year old to enter. Andrew did not have much difficulty entering the cave as he was below average in size. When it was safe enough for his sister to enter, he let out a low whistle. His sister heard it and entered. The cave amazed her. It was covered with "ice-like" rocks but it was not cold inside.

Soon, they discovered that the cave led to two different places. Which was the correct route? Then they decided to enter the hole to the left. They carefully strode towards the dim light. Was it the treasure? Their were beating so loud that they could hear its echo clearly. They soon spotted a chess box but it was empty with heavy hearts they walked back to the start of the cave and made a U-turn and entered the next route. This time, the cave was covered with red glowing rubies and sapphires and precious diamonds. "So this was the treasure,” they thought.

Surprisingly, at the end of the cave, there was a big treasure cave. There was another note on the treasure box it said" Only two children aged six to ten are able to open this treasure box." Fortunately, Elizabeth was eight and Andrew was nine. They were delighted when they read it. Both pushed open the treasure box with all their might and found bags of gold coins. They were stunned. All added to almost a few million dollars. They carried the bags of gold slowly down to the opening of the cave. Then Elizabeth clambered down. Andrew then lowered down the bags with the rope he found in the cave.

Soon, they had loaded all the bags on the raft. When they reached the shore, Elizabeth ran back to their parents to tell them the good news. Then she led them back to the raft where all of them helped to carry all the bags of gold coins to the car and drove home. They turned millionaires over-night but their discovery was kept a secret.
